Cutting peaches might seem simple, but without the right technique, you can end up with uneven slices and wasted fruit.
Here’s an easy method to get the most out of your peaches so that the only thing ending up in the bin is the pit!
Start by placing the peach stem-side up. You’ll notice a natural line or seam that runs around the fruit. Although it may seem counterintuitive, you’re going to cut perpendicular to that seam, slicing all the way around. Then, gently twist the two halves in opposite directions. One side will come away clean, while the other will still contain the pit.
Set the pit-free half aside. Take the half with the pit and cut along the seam to split it again. Twist gently to loosen the pit, then remove it. Now that you’re pit-free, you can slice or dice your peach however you'd like!
